What is a Video Messenger System?

Video Message VM-3 Generation
The heart of the system is the Video Messenger VM-3 which allows you to display messages as your own video bulletin board. This bulletin board can be displayed over a number of monitors or throughout an entire facitlity by modulating its output onto a channel on your television system. Some people refer this type of equipment as a character generator. Because the VM-3 allows you to schedule and route each message when and where needed, we call the it a message generator, hence the name Video Messenger. The VM-3 is commercial quality and features metal construction, an internal power supply (110v & 220V), professional BNC connectors and a standard AT 101 keyboard. The message creation software is intuitive in nature which makes the unit easy to use by almost any operator.

Message Scheduling

The system's scheduling software is very flexible. It allows you to pre-schedule up to 250 messages which can be either full page or crawl lines. Scheduling can be done by day(s) of the week, time of day and date range. The internal calendar can extend scheduled messages out to December 31, 2026.

Font Color and Background Color by Line

Their are five built in fonts each with 4 different sizes. 16 colors with 8 brightnesses can be added to both fonts and backgrounds as desired.

Multi-Channel, Multi-Source System

The VM-3 is a Mult-Channel, Mult-Source Unit. Up to 32 VM's can be daisy chained together allowing each to display the same or a distinctive set of messages.

Message Routing

The ability to network VM's together is very useful if the operator wishes to have different messages appear in different areas of a property or he or she wants the same text message to be displayed over different TV broadcasts or programming. The routing system is easy to use and greatly increases the effectiveness of the system. The VM-3's flexibility allows it to easily be used in a great variety of applications.

Controlling the Video Messenger from a Remote Location
The unit can be operated remotely via a LAN or the internet using the IP/Serial Port Converter. Video Messenger provides communications software (The VMConsole) for the PC which allows for the creation, storage and transmission of messages. The messages are sent to the VM-3, using the VMConsole, which links to the Internet or a LAN. This IP/Serial port Converter that allows the user to communicate with the VM-3 using the VMConsole software for Windows®. (Neat, economical and effective)
Professional Multimedia Presentations that you can produce yourself!
Adding a DV Pro Media Player makes the Video Messenger a Multimedia superstar. The DV Pro Media Player features include the capability to play hundreds of high resolution images and/or MPEG quality video. These images and video files can be linked to messages and a control cable allows the Video Messenger and Player to operate together automatically displaying a series of presentations which include your graphics, images and video, customized with your overlaid text message.

You can author both images and video clips onto a Compact Flash Card using a simple to use authoring tool (DV Studio Plus) which is provided with the system.
